About Us

MISSION STATEMENT:  The Make a Difference Foundation is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of young people who have shown leadership in their community.  By forging clear paths and providing life changing opportunities The Make a Difference Foundation is helping young leaders learn positive ways to serve their community through leadership.  Learn. Serve. Lead. This is the core mission of The Make a Difference Foundation.

VISION:  The family vision hinges on the motto, “Learn. Serve. Lead.”   This motto has lead to the creation of endowed scholarships, participation in the holiday trees of rememberance ceremonies which began in Oklahoma City (as a result of the Murrah Building bombing), donating money to support Crime Stoppers, dedication of a live oak tree at Stetson University and Holland Hall, community activism and volunteerism with urban kids and organizations, and the establishment of the Lane Seminar Room at Stetson University in the political science department of Elizabeth Hall.

The Make a Difference Foundation has also established a calendar of recurring events to primarily support education opportunities and crime victims’ rights at this time.

The most remarkable initiative making a difference in the lives of collegebound students is the Laptops for Leaders program, which has been expanded for development purposes to include our other non-profit partner, Vertical Life.

Values:  Learn. Serve. Lead.

The Make a Difference Foundation is a family foundation that emerged from being silenced in the face of tragedy to continue the family vision of helping others and making a difference in the world.

As long as even just one person can still Make A Difference, there is still hope.  Hope that tomorrow brings new opportunity to become more than we’ve been and that as we meet this challenge, we hold the power to shape the world.  As was iterated by John F. Kennedy, “One person can make a difference.”
